Location & payment
Practical and flexible.
Students are usually tutored during school hours at their own school. Some after-school, home-based and online tutoring is also available.
Current session prices are listed on the Services page. Payment can be made monthly in advance or weekly by automatic payment. Non-payment may lead to cancellation of tutoring.

A positive routine
Learning works best with consistency.
Clear arrangements help families plan around lessons while keeping children’s progress moving forward.
Cancellations & missed lessons
Keeping learning on track.
Regular attendance
Students are asked to commit to a full term of tutoring. Consistency is important for making progress with the Barton programme.
Planned absences
Please give as much notice as possible for school trips, events, holidays or other planned commitments. Where possible, a make-up lesson will be arranged.
Illness
If your child is unwell, please let Kirsty know as soon as you can. A make-up lesson will be offered where possible.
No-shows
If a student does not attend and no notice has been given, the full lesson fee will be charged and a make-up lesson will not be offered.
School events
If Kirsty arrives and your child is taking part in a school event, they will remain at the event and the lesson will be charged.
Ending tutoring
Two weeks’ notice is required to finish before the end of a term. Remaining scheduled lessons may be charged if a student leaves without notice, unless the place can be filled or another arrangement is agreed.
School holidays & term dates
Plan ahead together.
Tutoring takes place as normal during the school term. During school holidays, lessons may continue at your home, Kirsty’s home-based office or online.
There is a short break over Christmas and New Year. At the beginning of each year, families can discuss preferred dates and planned holidays. Pre-arranged holidays are not charged when discussed in advance.
Tutoring does not normally take place in the first week of the school year, allowing children to settle in and suitable lesson times to be arranged with teachers.
